Dataset Description:
The BGS’s GeoScenic Photos are a digital archive of over 60,000 geological photos that illustrate and categorise various geological features of significance. The images can be viewed and downloaded individually online from the National Archive of Geological Photographs, and they are also all available, complete with metadata, through the Jisc Geospatial Platform.
The images are indexed and can be searched by a large number of properties such as keyword, photo number, description, date, photographer, etc, in addition to a spatial search by location in a map viewer.
